Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is completely amazing. I read about half of it in one sitting and have already announced it as my bible. But one of the best things about it is the mix tape he makes for Patrick as a Secret Santa ("I hope it's the kind of second side that he can listen to whenever he drives alone and feel like he belongs to something whenever he's sad. I hope it can be that for him.")It goes as follows:
1. Asleep- The Smiths
2. Vapour Trail- Ride
3. Scarborough Fair- Simon and Garfunkel
4. A Whiter Shade of Pale- Procol Harum
5. Time of No Reply- Nick Drake
6. Dear Prudence- The Beatles
7. Gypsy- Suzanne Vega
8. Nights in White Satin- The Moody Blues
9. Daydream- Smashing Pumpkins
10. Dusk- Genesis
11. MLK- U2
12. Blackbird- The Beatles
13. Landslide- Fleetwood Mac
14. and again Asleep- The Smiths
Anywho, the entire book is amazing. It's so utterly sweet but harshly true. So i've decided to compose a mix tape. Not all at once, but maybe one a day so as not to rush (these things take time, you know.)
First Installment:
Your Hand in Mine- Explosions in the Sky
Totally instrumental (only guitars and drums from what i could hear) but such an amazing song. It makes me feel infinite.
