Heart Full Of Wine

I want this to be my life.

Iphigen

I don't know her real name. She just goes by Iphigen for me. But she's cool because she basically just uses texta. TEXTA?! I know. It's pretty cool. She so cool she needs no name.

Bleeding Knees Club

The La's- There She Goes

Their one and only hit, but a hit nonetheless. Such an attractive band...

New Slang + Garden State = Meaning of life.

Maybe not so dramatic as that but pretty close. I want this song at my funeral or my wake i think and this movie immersed me into indie culture.
Amazing song, amazing movie

Australia

Has no relation to Australia whatsoever but rumour has it that they liked it here so they wanted to name a song after us, thus Australia was born.

Now for the Shins

Phantom Limb

Ask

Bigmouth Strikes Again- Smtihs of course

The Smiths

I'm in an 'S' mood today. i walked home today with the smiths on and the second i got behind the fence of my house i danced for about 5 minutes then went inside for tea. The Smiths have some of the best danceable songs i've ever heard, quite contrary to the common misconception theyre all quite melancholy.
This Charming Man

The Strokes- Hard To Explain

alalala i love the strokes. they have the most amazing guitar riffs and jules is so attractive. and the video clip is kind of amazing. quite nostalgic, like.

oh and you dcant forget You Only Live Once.

Exquisite.

Sir Jose

I really really love his songs. I listened to 'Down the Line' so many times last year that i think it will be etched forever onto my brain. But then i found the video clip...and i cried! it was terrible but i did. I didn't cry this time i watched it but i think i need to monitor some of my crying patterns. i cry at the weirdest things.

This one is 'Crosses' which was his first album? possibly. one of his older ones. I heard this one after and loved it just as much, same for the clip.

ps. kelly, i think this man is why i fell in love with funny noses.

Turn On Me- The Shins

Revoltingly beautiful. And look Kelly, the american flag! you're right about that every american film contains the american flag. But still, the Shins are amazing.

Sweet Disposition- The Temper Trap

Sorry about the sound quality but still this song is great. I'm just in love with his voice. its so soft. this was one of my wake up songs. I have the radio set as my alarm so i woke up to this and laid in bed for another 3 songs until i found the name of it. and even better, theyre only heaps new so props for the anonymity of this band. its just so nice.

Just a dash of french

je t’aime jusqu’au bout= to love someone all the way to the ends of their fingers and tips of their ears

so you think you know electricity...

Amazing Electronic Fact: I you scuff your feet long enough, without touching anything, your finger will explode.
Nuff said.

1930's Fashion Predictions.

'Ooh, swish.' And the men Shall be fitted with a telephone, radio and containers for coins, keys and candy for cuties. Wow. This is perfect.

I kind of wish we dressed like this now and that someday we have fish tank belts or extendo heels or light up shirts or mp3 gloves. Life would be sweet if there were fancy things like that. But the best thing is that the transforming dresses are around today. A designer made mechanical dresses that changed form and a designer on project runway made little dresses that you could fold around and make new clothes. The future is coming.

And then i found this ad for curlers.

i love the littler pigtail one. its like princess leia gone wrong. they could at least rhyme though.

Lykke Li & Bon Iver- Dance Dance Dance

I found this just tonight and so far have watched it at least 13 times. They are my two favourite artists lately. And now together! My oh my, when i found this i fainted. Theyre just amazing. And Lykke Li isnt one of those artists that are great in recordings and god awful in live performances. I swear shes so much better live with her toy trumpet and dancing and shes just exquisite. Plus its her real name so props to her.
Then of course there's Bon Iver. Man, he's just sheer amazement. He wrote his album in this log cabin somewhere in a forest and its the most beautiful things i'd heard in my life. The whole album is magic. This ones Skinny Love, completely different but stunning nonetheless.

Beck

is pretty amazing. He's extremely slick too.

Take his new one, Gamma Ray. Its just so addictive and Beach Boy-esque.

Then theres Girl- not to be mistaken with the Beatle's Girl- but is still fabulous.

Nausea.

And of course, Timebomb. Nothing like waking up to an alarm of "OH FUCK YOUR HEADPHONES." It's just fantastic. And the hamsters! Unfortunately it isnt official but its my favourite out there.

Beck, everybody!

Noah and the Whale- 5 years time

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8YCSJpF4g4&feature=related

sorry about the link but its not letting me put it on but it really has to be put on.
this song got stuck in my head for 2 weeks straight. then i saw the video clip.
it has everything! Synocopated dancing, butt tag, singalong text, whistling! Oh man its great. just watch.

So I'm kind of obsessed with time lapses but for good reason.
I've recently come to notice that some of my obsessions (eg. the universe- i have space pictures all through my room) may possibly be really quite nerdy and science geeky but its this video that is the core of my obsessions with science. its all so spectacular and mind blowing that its going on but we just cant notice it. it really screws with my mind sometimes.

Joanna Newsom- sprout and the bean

I was only reminded of this because it was on the new melbourne tourist ad but still its quite nice.
I just love this. Sometimes her voice can be the most irritating sound in the world but this song is perfect for it.
The Harp as well! theres really not enough properly used harps these days.
Enjoy.

Mix Tape 4

4th Installment-
Glosoli- Sigur Ros
If you knew me, you'd realise the obsession i have with this band. But there is a reason for it if you hear this song. They create magic and my throat goes all clenchy and its just amazing. No person could hate this band. And Iceland! Oh, its magnificent. They believe in elves, and its green and there are towns with populations of 10 and i really really do believe this is the most perfect place in the world. I;m sorry i could go on for ages about this band. They are epiphanic.

John Butler- Ocean

Never again shall i say Australia has no talent. John Butler is insane and this is just his 2 minute version of a 12 minute instrumental. Its exquisite. Plus Spicks and Specks. Love.

Mix Tape 3

Third Installment:
Is There A Ghost?- Band Of Horses
just got their cd and fell head over heels in love with this band. he just has a beautiful echoey voice and the guitar is beautiful.

Addam's Family is darkness.

Amanda: “Is that your bathing suit?”
Wednesday: “Is that your overbite?”
Gary: “Now, one of you will be the drowning victim and the other one gets to be our lifesaver.”
Amanda: “I’ll be the victim!”
Wednesday: “All your life.”

unbeknownst to most....

Beautiful Beautiful Pictures

Lolita

"She was Lo, plain Lo, in the morning, standing four feet ten in one sock. She was Lola in slacks. She was Dolly at school. She was Dolores on the dotted line. But in my arms she was always Lolita. Light of my life, fire of my loins. My sin, my soul. Lo... Lee... Ta. "

Ah, Lolita, disturbing yet so beautiful. I watched this movie yesterday and am still charmed and disturbed by it. The film is about a man who falls in love with his step-daughter, Lolita, and marries her mother to be with her. During the beginning, his love is odd but as it progresses you are shown how Lolita is really a manipulative girl who has stripped her step-father of all stability, blackmailing for each and everything she wants.

It was based on a book by Vladimir Nabokov written in 1955 which sounds amazing. The quotes i've read so far are really beautiful.Plus her hair in the film is splendid.
